How it works

How it works

  • You tell us your condition/s
  • We collate the latest research and news on them from trusted sources around the world
  • Updates wait for you in your private online account
  • Our emails never contain health details unless you choose otherwise
  • Membership is open to UK residents only

Four simple steps

Tell us your condition/s

Use our short research request form. You give explicit consent, and can withdraw it at any time.

We collate the research

From trusted sources around the world, such as peer-reviewed journals, trial registries and medicines regulators. Every item links to its source.

You read it in your account

Up to 3 updates a week on Essential, or up to 9 on Recommended, plus summary emails. Every update stays in your library while you are a member.

You decide, with your own doctor

Each update reports what the research found, with its source. We do not recommend anything. Whether to act is entirely your decision: consult a qualified healthcare professional before changing anything.

When your condition changes

If a condition you follow changes, gets worse or gets better, or you start a new treatment, use Update my condition in your account at any time. We refocus your research to match. Essential members can change their 1 condition; Recommended members can manage up to 3. You can see a history of your changes.

This is not a way to report symptoms or get medical help. Contact your own doctor, and in an emergency dial 999.

Email security: no health details in your inbox

If someone ever got into your email account, we do not want them to find your health information there.

  • By default, our emails contain no health data and never name your condition/s. They simply say a new update is waiting, with a link to log in
  • Two-step verification protects every sign-in: your password, plus a one-time code
  • Your research requests and condition updates never travel by email. They are saved in our secure members system. We get an alert that a new request or condition update is waiting, with only your member reference and a link, and we read the details inside our admin area, which also needs two-step verification and keeps an audit log
  • Your weekly summary email follows the same rule: a short note that new updates are waiting, nothing more
  • Full-content emails are opt-in only. You can choose them in your email preferences, but only after reading a clear warning about the risk. We are not responsible for who can get into your own mailbox

Where the research comes from

We collate it from trusted sources around the world, such as peer-reviewed journals, trial registries and regulators. Each item carries a plain label showing how strong the evidence is, from early laboratory work to large trials and official decisions.

Where our role stops

Important: this is not medical advice

We collate publicly available research and news and pass it on. We do not diagnose, prescribe, endorse or recommend any treatment, supplement or clinical trial, and nothing here is a substitute for your own doctor. Whether to act on anything is entirely your decision: consult a qualified healthcare professional before starting, stopping or changing any treatment. In an emergency dial 999.

We will not tell you whether a treatment, supplement or trial is right for you, and we do not contact your doctors.
